Friendship Fire Co. No. 1 is an all-volunteer fire department located in the Englewood section of Butler Township in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
Established in 1925 to provide fire protection to the expanding Englewood section of Butler Township, our department is celebrating 100 years of dedicated service to the residents of Butler Township and beyond.
Our primary coverage area, which combines both rural and suburban sections, spans approximately 18 square miles and includes 12 miles of Interstate 81. In addition to our primary responsibilities, we also offer mutual aid support, including Rapid Intervention, engine company, tanker, and UTV support to fire departments in Schuylkill County and parts of Northumberland County.
Through our merger with the American Fire Co. No. 1 of Fountain Springs Butler Township, we now operate out of two fire stations. Our primary station is in the Englewood section of Butler Township, while our second station is situated in the Fountain Springs section of the township.
Our fleet of apparatus consists of the following units:
- 2013 2000 GPM Pierce Pumper
- 1989 1500 GPM Hahn Pumper
- 1995 Freightliner/Walker 3000 Gal Tanker
- 2019 Ford F550 Squad
- 2020 Can-Am Defender HD10 6×6 UTV
Our organization thrives due to the unwavering dedication of our first responders, the support of our general membership and active Ladies Auxiliary, and the overwhelming support from our community.
